We plan for every aspect of life. Having a family, vacations, weddings, retirement are all planned.  We prepare for what might happen such as fires, accidents or floods.  But, because most of us do not like to think about death — we avoid making important funeral decisions known in advance.

Now more than ever, it is important to plan ahead.  Our way of life is more complicated every day.  Family members are often widely separated and to be suddenly brought together following a death to make funeral arrangements with no guidance about your wishes, can be both confusing and troubling for them.

Having a written record of your instructions removes any concerns about "what you would have wanted".
