BRGLEZ, Joseph - With his family by his side, it is with sadness we announce that Joseph passed away on September 22, 2011 at the age of 84 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Sonja, his sons Brian (Beverly), Henry, Robert (Jane) and Joe, grandchildren Stephen (Kim), Patricia (Ray), Karen (Eddie), Clayton, Jennifer, Hannah, Jacob and Zoe and great- granddaughter Isabella. After being raised as an orphan in difficult circumstances, experiencing World War II as a combat soldier and struggling afterwards through the difficult times of communism, he immigrated to Canada in 1951 after a brief stay in Austria. Although he cherished his Slovenian roots, he was always grateful in becoming a Canadian citizen. A simple but hardworking man, he took great pride in attaining the level of Master Plumber and being a foreman on many building projects. He was a proud member of UA Local 46 with the Union of Plumbers and Pipefitters. Resting at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough. Visitation to be held Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral to be held at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 51 Heather Road, Scarborough, on Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
