CHAMBERS, William Roy - Surrounded by his family, Bill peacefully passed away on July 10, 2011. The loving husband of Helen (Knibbs). Bill and Helen celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on July 4, 2011. He was a wonderful father who was adored by his daughters Debbie Boukydis-Grant (Jim) and Kimberley Mitchell. A most cherished and loved grandfather to Jacqueline Campbell (David), Vanessa (Simon) and Olevia Boukydis and Kevin (Amanda) and Keith (Rachel) Mitchell. Bill was born near the farming community of Listowel, Ontario on March 4, 1925 and remained very interested in his hometown, always reading "The Listowel Banner" from cover to cover. He joined the Metropolitan Toronto Police Services in 1950 and was a respected and well regarded police officer who loved his career in policing, proudly retiring as Staff Sergeant after 35 distinguished years. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose guidance, wisdom and great humour will be so missed. The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home on Friday from 12-1 p.m. A Memorial Service to follow in the Ogden Chapel at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Scarborough General Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.
